If you encounter an error that says "No data in selected range" when you open a heatmap, there could be a few different reasons for this.
Below we will look into what they may be.
Heatmaps of mobile pages
When opening a heatmap, Mouseflow opens the heatmap in the Desktop view by default.
If the page in question has only received visits from visitors on mobile devices, the default desktop version won't have any data.
In order to view the mobile heatmap, you must switch the heatmap view to the Phone view by hovering your cursor over the device selection drop-down menu, labeled Desktop by default, in the upper right corner of the heatmap page and then select Phone.
No heatmap data in the selected date range
If you see the "No data in selected range" when opening a heatmap, or adjusting the date-range, it may simply be because the heatmap has no data for the selected heatmap type and device in the selected date range.
If the heatmap you are accessing is a Click Heatmap, you should check if the heatmap click count displays "0" or any other positive number. A click heatmap can only be rendered if the visitors who entered the page performed at least 1 click on the page.
For other heatmap types, you should check if the heatmap has received any visitors in the selected date range. If the Visits count is 0 for a heatmap, a heatmap cannot be rendered. In this case, please try an adjust the date-range or heatmap device type by using the date-range selector or device selection drop-down in the upper right corner of the screen.
